That's why we're thrilled to announce that The Gramercy Tavern, located at 42 East 20th Street, is getting set to reopen, and here at Broadway Suites we couldn't be more psyched. This local favorite has been operating a take-out only menu, and we've definitely missed the comfortable yet elegant ambience of the place.

Chef Michael Anthony, author of "How to Cook Everything", (a book everyone needs) is familiar to some New Yorkers through his work with the charity God's Love, We Deliver, a service that provides meals for hungry and homebound New Yorkers.

The Gramercy Tavern is an upscale, Michelin starred rendition of the Great American Tavern. The atmosphere is casually elegant, and the food is superb. We've missed the Tavern burger, and it's the perfect place to meet up with friends after work and grab a tasty bite.

The menu brings a creative flair to tavern fare; roasted chicken and grilled hangar steak, wood fired striped bass with white miso and fingerling potatoes—it's upscale comfort food at its finest.

We can't wait to dig into brioche shrimp toast, citrus & chicory salad, and Lamb Pappardelle with Swiss chard, harissa, and lemon confit. The menu is perfectly attuned to what people want right now—comfort food with a classy twist.

The dessert menu is equally tantalizing. Dark chocolate pudding, caramelized cheesecake, and the Gramercy Tavern's signature cookies—triple chocolate chunk and chocolate hazelnut—are a scrumptious end to the meal, and perfectly in keeping with the rest of the menu.

The Tavern re-opens March 18th for outdoor dining. March 18th sees the indoor reopening of the tavern, and we're all staying tuned for the multi-course tasting menu, something to eagerly look forward to as Spring approaches! 

Safety will be a top priority at the reopened Tavern. The restaurant uses UV lighting and bipolar ionization technologies, along with some very sophisticated air filters. The staff are temperature scanned upon arrival, and they have reconfigured the flow of the restaurant to ensure social distancing.

Like so many of you, we've been eagerly awaiting a chance to sit in a restaurant, relax, and enjoy a meal. We can't wait until The Gramercy Tavern opens its doors to the public once again!
