Don’t Miss Out the Action in the Public Theater this Summer

Even in the wake of one of the most chaotic years, New York is still the epitome of entertainment. The city's pride and joy are embedded in Central Park, which has been nurturing talents and entertaining people since it was first opened on June 18th, 1962. But this year's summer, things are going to get a bit crazy with a series of plays dating back from the 1500s- the Shakespeare era in action. So let us head down to the park and see what it has on offer.

The Merry Wives of Windsor

Merry Wives of Windsor is a comedy written by William Shakespeare and first published in 1602. The comedy features some unusual characters, such as Henry IV, rowdy Fenton, and the lesser-known Pistol and Nym. All these characters converge with British Royalties to produce one of the greatest comedies in the small town of Windsor.

However, starting from July 6th to August 18th, Shakespeare in the Park presents Merry Wives of Windsor at the heart of Manhattan. This live comedy will be celebrated with mixed emotions, but for sure, laughter and fun will be among them. The 67 years of Public Theater

Created back in the mid-'50s by Joseph Papp, the Public Theater will be on the to-do list of many New Yorkers this year as it has always been in the past. Here, visitors will enjoy a 90 minute show  from Monday to Saturday each week  except on stormy days.

In the past, there was nothing as good as listening to Bard's melodic words in a serene environment against the backdrop of a vibrant city. His words echoed throughout the park, delighting attendees' hearts who similarly had a rare glimpse into the nearby Belvedere Castle- the true icon of American culture. But as we all know, Shakespeare in the Park means tickets are scarce. To get your ticket, visit Goldstar right now.

A unique combination of actors in the Public Theater are making this event successful

The Public Theater is one of the brooding grounds for upcoming talents, thanks to the industry's veterans swarming into the Park every year. From Denzel's admirable physique to Meryl's wonderful smiles to the cunning moves portrayed by Goodman, the park is usually filled with fun-cracking characters who happen to be the reason why the USA's movie industry is booming. Here are some of the names making Shakespeare in Park loosely rank by fame.

1. Denzel Washington

This prolific actor and New Yorker first set foot in the Public Theater in 1990 in the production of Richard III. He currently holds various top positions in the realm of acting.

2.  Al Pacino

If you are a Public Theater's frequent visitor, there is a high chance you have seen Pacino do his deeds. This 80-year-old actor played a role in Julius Caesar and Merchants of Venice in 1987 and 2010, respectively.

3. Morgan Freeman

Though he is an environmentalist by nature, Morgan Freeman is not yet tired of his old habits- hitting the screens. He quickly rose to fame thanks to his 1979 role in Coriolanus in the Public Theater.

4. Michelle Pfeiffer

Together with her fellow actor Anne Hathaway, Michelle Pfeiffer played a part in the production of Twelfth Night. The duo is idolized by many American girls and the rest of the community, who find fun during their actions on stage.

This summer, the Public Theater will be a busy fixture in New York as it has always been in the past years. So book your ticket as soon as possible to avoid missing your favorite actors on the stage.
