As if there weren't enough reasons to come and explore the reinvigorated city of New York, the Harry Potter experience has just arrived. So much more than just a shopping venue, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, located at 935 Broadway, has just opened its doors. 

This building boasts the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products to be gathered under one roof. Toys, stationery, clothing, collectibles, housewares, cosmetics and more can all be found here. But shopping is only part of the experience. Check out these activities and events you can take part in while visiting. 

Butterbeer Bar 

Just the thing to wet your whistle while searching for your wizarding tools, butterbeer is a Harry Potter staple. The Butterbeer Bar features bottled or on tap butterbeer and even butterbeer ice cream. The bottled butterbeer comes in collectible bottles with a label inspired by the Magical Arts Congress of the United States of America. An insignia all fans of the Fantastic Beasts will be familiar with.  

You are welcome to sit at the table and enjoy your butterbeer, or butterbeer ice cream if you prefer. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the company before heading back to more Harry Potter delights. 

Wand Shop 

As you may have guessed, the Wand Shop is filled with wands. Here you will find both those reminiscent of the ones owned by your favorite Harry Potter characters and some you haven't seen before, including the Golden Snitch Wand which is exclusive to the New York City store.  As you also know, you don't choose a wand, it chooses you. Customers are encouraged to handle the wands and try them out, even have a wand duel with your fellow shoppers.  

To really get to know your wand, take it over to the interactive wand table. Here the wand will share its history and offer you tidbits of little know wand lore. 

Keep an eye on the screens located between the boxes of wands as well. They feature seasonally appropriate magic forest scenes where you are likely to catch a glimpse of the Patronuses of your favorite characters. If you are diligent and just a bit lucky you may even get a look at the never-before-seen Phoenix Patronus that aided Dumbledore in his life's journey. 

Confectionery 

Walk into the world of whimsy that is Honeydukes Confectionery. This area of the store features all of the sweets that fans of Harry Potter have been dying to try. They, of course, have Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs and Fizzing Whizzbees as well as other treats fit for rewarding young wizards. 

So, now you have one more great reason to return to the wonder of NYC. Because of the venue's popularity and lingering covid concerns, you must, at this point, make reservations. Not to worry, it's a simple process using their virtual queue.
