Burn by Alan Cumming & Steven Hoggett: SEP 20-25
Burn is a play by the Scottish-born, New York-based playwright, actor, singer and activist Alan Cumming. The production stars Cumming in the lead role as he portrays real art world figures, including Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, and Tracey Emin. Burn is set in the world of contemporary art and uses fictional characters to explore themes such as celebrity worship, narcissism, and greed. This new work from Alan Cumming marks his first return to Broadway since his award-winning breakout performance in Cabaret in 1998.
Soledad Barrio & Noche Flamenca: SEP 27-OCT 2
Soledad Barrio is one of the most influential flamenco dancers in the world today. Her specialty is classical flamenco and she has collaborated with artists like Olga Guillot, El Farsa, Lole y Manuel Vallejo, La Tana Gitana and Manolo Marquez. She combines traditional gestures with modern choreographies in her performances to create a new style that blends tradition with innovation. For this show, she will be joined by Noche Flamenca dancers.
LaTasha Barnes presents The Jazz Continuum: OCT 11-16
LaTasha Barnes is a jazz singer and actress. She has performed with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, and the New York Pops. In addition to these performances, she has also performed in several Broadway productions, including "Cats" (as Grizabella), "Beauty and the Beast" (as Belle), and more.
The Joyce Theatre's upcoming performance of The Jazz Continuum: OCT 11-16 will feature LaTasha Barnes as a vocalist along with pianist Bruce Bartholomew on October 13th at 7:30 pm ET in NYC.
Fouad Boussouf: Näss: OCT 18-23
Fouad Boussouf is a French-Algerian singer-songwriter and the son of Cheb Mami, one of the most prominent singers in Algeria. He has released two albums to date, "Mama" (2008) and "Zebda" (2010). His music includes traditional Berber songs from Algeria as well as blues and rock influences. In 2015 he participated in "Dansez Sur le sable" at La Seine Musicale Paris event held on April 26th, where he performed with other renowned artists such as Amel Bent, Chimene Badi & Faudel. Fouad will return to The Joyce Theatre on October 18th through 23rd for four shows only!
